Chat GPT (Conversational Generative Pre-training Transformer), is a language processing tool. It aids users to answer questions - write, code. explain various things, provides diverse information, etc. It is today’s trendy buzzword that has been humming through the AI world, the world of techies and even among us - ordinary workers and learners. But is it a fad, a trend  or just another novel idea that will soon fade away?  It certainly is here to stay, with further exploration, research, testing and application in real-world scenarios like responses to complex questions, accuracy, reliability, validity, training, etc. Chat GPT is progressively taking the world by storm and making its mark, bringing forth L&D benefits never seen before.

There is no denying that it is a sensational tool that continues to flourish and evolve. There are different opinions floating around regarding its benefits to the learning industry hence, it is necessary to have a basic understanding of what it is and how it can help us empower our learners in their quest for more knowledge and quick access to information for immediate application and solutions. In fact it is being currently tried as a “teaching assistant” in certain fields of learning.

About the Presenters

Megan Torrance

Megan has 20 years of experience in the learning industry, covering everything from instructional design, eLearning development, instructor-led training, technical writing, LMS deployment & system administration, to change management and project management. She has worked for clients in the chemical, information technology, manufacturing, medical, professional services, health insurance, healthcare, salon, and food & beverage industries.

As CEO (Chief Energy Officer) of TorranceLearning, Megan sets direction for instructional design, technical and media delivery, client relationships, team member development and overall business management. It's her job to make sure that everything is in place to deliver outstanding results to clients, build a rewarding environment for team members and establish deep roots in the community.

Josh Cavalier

Josh has been creating learning solutions for corporations, government agencies, and secondary education institutions for close to thirty years. He is considered an expert in the field of computer-based training and has applied his industry experience to the development of ChatGPT - a revolutionary new platform that uses Natural Language Processing and AI to create truly personalized learning experiences.

Josh is passionate about sharing his knowledge and has a popular YouTube channel where he shares tips and tricks on everything from product design to effective presentation techniques. He has also presented at conferences like ATD ICE, TechKnowledge, NAB, Adobe MAX, and DevLearn.

Ray Jimenez, Ph.D.

Ray Jimenez, Ph.D., spent 15 years with Coopers & Lybrand in the areas of management consulting and implementation of learning technology solutions.
